Westside Branch Film Screening: Parque Central

Ice cream seller with child

Westside Comrades:

We have a special treat for you all, as we're locked inside with the "Safe at Home" order: a film screening of a local comrade's independent, leftist film: Parque Central! Afterwards, we'll have a Q&A with the director, local comrade Ricky Ganoa, and cinematographer Sean Gillane, a comrade from East Bay! The screening will start off with a short intro by the staff, with the screen going live at 7:15

What's this film got to offer a bunch of leftists stuck inside during a global pandemic? In the words of the team:

"In the heart of Antigua, Guatemala, a humble park plays an international intersection as tourists stroll through the center of the centuries old town. Beneath the shade of trees, day in and out, indigenous children shine shoes, sell ice creams and trinkets while dodging the patrol of local police attempting to shut them down."

Be sure to stay afterwards for a Q&A with Ricky and Sean! Please RSVP to get the zoom link.

Can't make the film screening? The film is streamed on Means.TV, so check it out there! For more info, please check out the film's website at parquecentraldoc.com
