As socialists and fellow workers, we must come together to support the United Teachers Los Angeles members who voted overwhelmingly to go on strike. Join us as we help the union build public support for the strike, and turn out to their Community Action Meeting with parents, teachers, students and community leaders. We will discuss how we can win funding for our schools, fair wages for teachers, smaller class sizes, and more.
We endorse this strike not only to stand in solidarity with our fellow workers, but because we recognize this is our struggle as well. We believe in public investment in our communities, and in education that means valuing the experiences of the teachers doing the work of educating our youth.
