Last school year, teachers staged historic strikes in West Virginia, Arizona, and Oklahoma — and now, it’s LA’s turn. Teachers at the nation’s second largest school district have voted to strike if negotiators can’t reach an agreement, with a walkout coming as soon as next month. As organized socialists, what is our role and orientation to this strike? And why are strikes such an important tool of working people? Join us at our next Chapter Meetings here in Koreatown, or on the Westside and in the Valley, as we discuss these questions and how we can support our teachers this fall.
