In anticipation of the Inspector General’s audit and potential expansion of racist Predictive Policing, SAR (Suspicious Activity Reporting) and LASER (Los Angeles Strategic Extraction and Restoration) programs, the Stop LAPD Spying Coalition is leading this workshop about data driven policing, specifically looking at the Citywide Nuisance Abatement Program (CNAP) that uses LASER to evict community members and assist gentrification.
Bringing together members of White People 4 Black Lives, DSA-LA's Housing and Homelessness and Prison Abolition Committees, and NOlympics Working Group, we will share knowledge and build power to mobilize around the dismantling of these programs used to target, displace, contain, and disrupt communities.
