Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Workshop

Under the Safer at Home order many DSA-LA members have been laid off or lost work, and the California state unemployment system (EDD) is overtaxed and unreliable. The situation is especially difficult for freelancers and the self-employed. On Tuesday, April 28, EDD began accepting applications for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, a special program meant to benefit workers affected by the COVID pandemic, freelancers, and the self-employed. We will gather online Thursday night (April 30 @ 7 pm) to help each other complete our applications and answer each others’ questions about the EDD system. All members and non-members are welcome, whether or not you plan to apply for unemployment at this time, and especially if you have special training in the unemployment system.
