Norma Rae Screening and Panel Discussion

International Working Women’s Day is March 8th! In preparation, join the DSA-LA Labor Committee for a screening of Norma Rae, the 1970’s cult classic about a textile worker who, in her quest to unionize her workplace, eschews patriarchal control for worker solidarity.

After the movie, we’ll host a panel discussion where experienced labor organizerswill discuss Norma Rae and what it means to unionize in Los Angeles in 2019- and how we can build towards a women-led, militant labor movement on the left.

Finally, stick around to help us create signs and banners for the DSA-LA contingent at the International Women’s Strike on March 8th! Norma Rae inspired signs encouraged!
