DSA-LA Labor Committee April Meeting: Organizing Under COVID-19

COVID-19 has forced a broad reorienting of DSA's work broadly, and of our Labor work generally - but we don't waste an opportunity to organize ourselves. We will have our next DSA-LA Labor Committee  meeting on Wednesday, April 8th, via Zoom. Please register to join at this link: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tZArcuCopj0sTSwXJavhMnMzyEYDU-BI7Q

We'll check in with each other about how we are experiencing COVID-19 as workers - how has our work changed, and how has our organizing on the job shifted? How do we support each other who were organizing a union or waging issue fights with our bosses? One way or another our workplace struggles continue, so let's figure out how.

We're going to spend a lot of time talking about our work through the HealthyLA Coalition - this crisis presents a real opportunity to join in coalition with others and win policies at the local level that benefit all workers, prioritizing our class over investors. If you haven't already, hit this petition right here - http://healthyla.org/petition/

And lastly, because we're not skipping our Socialist holiday this year, we'll be working on our May Day 2020 plans. May Day is a day to celebrate and honor each other as workers and commit ourselves further to struggle. While we don't know precisely what form our May Day 2020 work will take yet, you should be involved in planning and carrying it out!
